hi

sorry that i do not speak estonian here. and pls move it to correct forum section in case thats wrong !

i have a questions regarding estonian digi-tv (zuum tv) and de-scrambling it legally !

i have an usb stick (pinnacle 2000e)
i use dvb-viewer with coreavc h264 codec

i can receive etv and i see a picture and can hear it !

what do i need to receive zuum tv channels (conax scrambled) !

i thought it would be good to get a pcmcia conax cam card (which one and where in estonia). then i subscribe to zuum tv and with the zuum tv smartcard inserted to the cam-adapter i can watch the scrambled channels via dvb-viewer unscrambled ?

any suggestions or help is appreciated !

ciao

It can be done this way but there's an easier and cheaper way also. You only need usb smartcard reader with the legal card, newcs software and two plugins for dvbviewer (softcsa, newcsc)

hi.

Meaning the pc takes care of unscrambling ? I have a 1ghz amd box here (small media pc black box) - etv with h264 codec runs fine but i doubt there is pc power left for unscramble number crunching ?

Some experiences here ?

But the idea with the smartcard reader plus soft sound cool. I will check it out. Tx

Fortunately unscrambling is not CPU-intensive task unlike decoding. My CPU usage is exactly the same whether I am viewing ETV or encrypted channels.

Yes, unscrambling is piece of cake comparing to h264 decoding...

Eeldusel, et sul on DVB-C arvutikaart ja see ei suuna kogu infot automaatselt riistvaralisse CAMi ?!

Yep

newcs/wincsc and simple PCSC cardreader thats all you need. You only cant update keys on card. You need to insert the card to official box for that.

I tried it in january .. february, not now.

"NO KeY xx xx xx" in wincsc window
I think you card has no valid keys. Is card working in official box?

And better try newCS version 1.17 RC10

You can update key with phoenix interface and CnxCAM

They promised new CnxCAM in summer.
CnxCAM News

Next version should be released in a week or two.
New features are, PC/SC support, a lot faster channel change and a lot of other improvements. Paired cards will not be supported yet.

Joker

Why phoenix? NewCS supports PC/SC platform and that means any id-card reader will do just fine ;)
You should be able to aquire one from any IT shop in Estonia.

The only official way of watching ZoomTV would be a DVB-T H.264 Conax box (ex. the KAON that operator offers). All other ways and means are more or less illegal and unofficial. I can assure you that the abovementioned combination is viable and does the trick in relatively legal way ;)

hi

no box gives me the chance to be as flexible as a pc media box created by myself.

i wait to get my starman card reactivated via a zuumbox then i can see how the pc/sc solution works.

i would preffer a solution which can update the keys on the card. one time install and forget about it.

so - anyone knows a source for phoenix interfaces in tallinn or helsinki ?

You can ask from user sateks.Maybe he has.But you must have serial port on your pc of course.I don't have it myself on my laptop,so it's no option for me.
