First PVR for Norway DTT
By Julian Clover
Norges Televisjon (NTV) has given its approval to the first PVR enabled receiver to be used on Norway’s MPEG-4 DTT network.
The twin-tuner Grundig DTR 6680 VOD features a massive 500GB hard disk that will give around 375 hours of recording.
Signifcantly, the receiver has two card slots, should more than one pay-TV service be made available. Last week NTV appealed to the Post and Telecommunications Authority over the regulators proposals to offer capacity to a second pay-TV operator.
The new PVR receiver is being priced at NOK4,490 (€560) with a discounted price of NOK2,998 available to subscribers to the Riks TV pay package.
