Tecsun:
The Tecsun R-911 is an incredible little radio.
I have had mine for nearly a year now and I am very impressed with it.
While it has a light-weight plastic case, it holds up well and in-fact the prop positioned on the back of the radio outlasted the prop on my Tecsun PL600 ( a much more expensive radio).
Sensitivity is excellent for this radio and I find it to be a joy to use.
One thing to be aware of, when these radios are new they have a VERY stiff tuning dial and it will take a good bit of use to work it loose but once you do so it is stunning how well these receive signals from all over the world.
The telescopic antenna works well but reception can be enhanced with the use of a simple length of wire ( I use about 50 feet ) alligator-clipped to the antenna while the antenna is NOT extended at all. These radios do not have a lighted dial face or SSB feature nor do they have a digital signal-strength indicator but this is not intended to be an expensive and cumbersome compilation of electronics priced to serve the needs of a few, this is an every-man's radio and it serves that role beautifully. It is portable and uses only 2 batteries ( AA ), the speaker sound is good for a radio in this price-range, it has a jack for an earphone and a jack for a wall-adapter (you can get one at K-mart or WalMart cheap enough, just make sure you keep the polarity correct as indicated on the radio's plugin-socket).
So-far I have bought 3 of this model because I was so impressed with it's performance I decided to get one for each of my children as-well.
These make nice stocking-stuffers at Christmas.
The radio also features AM and FM bands which are not as refined in their reception as the shortwave channels are( in my humble opinion ). You will find more than one spot on the FM dial where the same (strong signal) station seems to be playing and FM sensitivity overall is not on a par with the old GE Super Radios of days gone by but then for most people surviving without that level of sensitivity is just fine.
AM works fine and I have pulled in stations many states away from me.
A word about reception is called-for now though... It varies due to geographic location, time of year, ionospheric conditions, antenna length and position, and general-weather conditions locally.
These factors are all generally known by the public and their effect on reception is taken into account even when using radio sets costing many hundreds of dollars more.
But that not withstanding, you may expect it likely to pick-up The Voice of Russia (V.O.R.),
BBC world service ( England ) , Deutch Welle (Germany )Radio Havanna Cuba ( Cuba),WWCR ( U.S.A.) and be sure and check out "The Golden Age of Radio" there for classic radio from the past with Victor Ives. Well the list just goes on-and-on... (There's even some kind of duck show out of Monticello Maine that seems a bit baffling to me but entertaining anyways. Shortwave station WBCQ? I think...)
I got my radio on Ebay and it was a few dollars less there but these are really neat little radios and virtually unbeatable at these prices.
When using any analog dial radio, one must learn to tune them slowly and deliberately to properly scan the available radio stations in the band you are monitoring, tuning too fast or failing to investigate a variation in the sound as you progress through the dial can cost you an interesting DX (long distance reception) like K.O.L. Israel (haven't heard them in awhile) or Radio Romania, or a broadcast out of Botswana Africa.
I use this radio over my PL600 because reception is fairly close to same, batteries last many times longer in the R-911 than in the PL600, and generally I don't use the single side band (ssb) on the PL600 like I used-to.
Plus the R-911 is lighter and less worrisome when taking it along for a walk or trip or whatever. If something were to happen to it (I pray that don't happen...but...) I could get another one quick-enough.
I would , and I have recommended this radio to friends and family alike and I let them know my experiences with this radio as listed above without hesitation.
At this price range, as good a performer as it is,how can you go wrong with this radio?
P.S.- there was a youtube review done on this model radio last year but I can't remember where I saw it. Just in case you would like to do a little more checking before buying one you might search there for that video.
Thank you.

Sagedused ning saatjad on vägagi koordineeritud ning litsenseeritud.
Ning selliseid ei ole.
A krt teab kuskohas laias maailmas Sa seda vastuvõtjat kasutada tahad...

Avastasin just, et mul vedeleb üks üheksakümnendate keskel ostetud kolakas Sony duubelkassettraadio, millel sagedused 65-108 MHz.
