Lünen, May 29th 2006. Dream, the leading supplier of Linux-based Set-Top-Boxes, proofs its intovating force once more. With the DM8000 Dream presents the first Linux-based Set-Top-Box for High-Definition Television viewing, and thanks to 4 Plug&Play tuners its built for the future.
The DM8000 offers state-of-the-art technology: 2 CI-slots, 2 DVB-S2-tuners (MPEG-4) plus another 2 empty slots for an additional Twin-tuner, which is expandable with all technologies, Satellite, Terrestial and Cable. Also, a cardreader for CF- and SD-cards is available.
Next to 2 SCART-slots, 1 S-VHS, 1 HDMI- and 1 YUV-connection (up to 1080i) there are 2 USB-connectors are placed at the back-side, along with 1 USB-connector placed on the front. Off-course is has a 100Mbit Network-card as well.
Recording and archiving of HD-material is no problem using the DM8000. It can be fitted with an Hard Disk Drive and DVD-burner, which are both optional. A MiniPCI-slot along with the large OLED-Display complete the package.
Dream-spokesman Tim Ziemann: "With the DM8000 Dream clearly underlines their role as technological pioneer for the digital television viewing. HDTV just became even better. Using the DM8000, recording and burning HD-quality is no longer a problem. It doesn't matter wether HDTV is received through satellite, Cable or Terrestial antenna, the DM8000 is prepared for all these platforms of HDTV-future."
The DM8000 will be offered in both black and silver. The Gross recommended retail price will be some ? 799. Dimensions (Width x Hight x Depth): 430 x 80 x 270 millimeter. The Linux-HDTV-Box will be reveiled at the ANGA Cable. Dream invites all interested people, who want to see the future today, to visit them at stand 16J.

Kuule jobu, mida sina tead. Sul ju Paradiisi DTV koos 40 maailma parima kanaliga.indrekp kirjutas:julm karp tuleb siis küll, otsisin juba tootja lehelt miskit aga ple veel muffigi. mul igatahes stand-by sest pann ootab korralikku tuunerit sinna otsa.

Pole seal nüüd ei-tea-mis julma midagi. HDMI väljund ja DVB-S2/H.264 ongi vast kogu see 'julm'... Ülejäänu osas on tegu suuresti 7025'e sisugaindrekp kirjutas:julm karp tuleb siis küll, otsisin juba tootja lehelt miskit aga ple veel muffigi. mul igatahes stand-by sest pann ootab korralikku tuunerit sinna otsa.

Selliselt peaks siis DM8000 alglaadima. Ülesvõte meenutab küll vanu aegu kui vene "turistid" käisid läänest uusi filme toomas. Aga no asi seegi.
